NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND...but they left behind the funds...and

the right techniques & curriculum.       Sept. 10, 2012

--TEACHERS WENT ON STRIKE IN CHICAGO...

for the first time in over 25 years -- due to major problems.

G. W. Bush and all those who have tried to turn our schools into

"test taking factories"  -- where teachers are expected to perform

like flunkies, under ridiculous conditions...was a disaster

waiting to happen. But the officials (Mayor, etc.) only

whine about "kids being on the streets."  And yet, similar

problems are widespread across the USA.

EE offers fantastic opportunities

... to make a difference!

THERE IS A CRISIS IN EDUCATION IN THE U.S.A.

It is so bad that it threatens our economy and our Nat'L Security.

Poor academic performance has a direct and serious impact on students' adult life. Dropouts are more likely to become and stay jobless, will enjoy dramatically lower lifetime earnings, and are far more likely to be unemployed and incarcerated.

ACHIEVEMENT GAP = The huge difference in academic performance between students from different economic circumstances and racial/ethnic backgrounds.

    EXAMPLES OF THE PROBLEMS:

  • By 4th grade, Black and Latino students are on average nearly 3 years behind their white and Asian counterparts.

  • Barely half of African-American and Latino students graduate from high school, with African American students graduating at 55%, Latinos at 58%, and their white counterparts at 78%.

  •
